My SUPERHERO

30 Days of Me - Day 6

My favourite superhero and why?

I dont really have a favourite superhero.  I enjoy X-men and all that jazz, but there is no superhero that i relate too.  So I went onto Google, searched superhero's and came cross this superhero test, to find out which superhero you are.  I completed the test and I was told I am Spider-man.

You are Spider-Man

You are intelligent, witty,
a bit geeky and have great
power and responsibility.

I am NOT going to share who my favourite superhero is and why, because if I did then you would know all my secrets.

3O Days of Me - Day 5

So Day 5 is a picture of somewhere I have been.

This is it folks.

This view is one of my favourite views in the world.  Taken in 2010 on the ferry to Staten Island before going to a Yankee's game.  An EPIC day it was indeed.

Lunch

Today I went for lunch with two very special friends.  We went to this lovely Italian restaurant called Giovanni's in Sandton.  OH MY HEAVEN'S the food was delicious.  Italian food is always yummy though.

Started with a lovely glass of red wine, always YUM.

Yummy gnocchi with a lovely three cheese sauce, was incredible.

Veggie pasta, this is what I call fantastic food.

30 Days of Me - Day 4

Day 4 - A habit you wish you didn't have.

We all have habits, that we sometimes wish we DID NOT have.  This is how I see it, if no one had habits, then we will all the the same and life would not be as interesting as it is now! So YES, we all hate our bad habits, and love our good habits, but too me it make us unique in our own little way.

A habit I wish I did not have, which I think many people have, is the habit of always thinking of what others think of you.  Since I can remember, I have always worried what people think of me and if they like me.  I was quiet a chunky girl in my past, so which made that even more difficult for myself. I always kept my mouth shut and never said what i wanted because I didn't want people to judge me.

When I lived in NYC, that changed me a little, because I didn't know many people, I could do what I wanted, wear what I felt look good at the time, and I felt that people never judged me (well that's what I thought)  I was my true self.  Since I have been home my habit has returned, not as much as before, but I do believe that everyone is afraid of not fitting in.  I am just so grateful that I have found true friends, that I know I can always be myself and that will never judge me.  I always try NOT too fit into the crowd and just be ME, but sometime that is a little difficult because I am sometimes afraid of what people will think.

I am trying my utmost best not to care, but it is a habit of mine that I wish I DID NOT have.

Gautrain Loving

This long weekend I adventured to JHB, rather driving 50 minutes or more depending on the traffic and using up R100 worth of gas, I went on the Gautrain.  Hatfield to Rosebank, R36 and 34 minutes later I was safely in JHB, no trouble at all.

When I was on the train it reminded me so  much of New York.  Larchmont to NYC, 35 minutes, total bliss!  I think its wonderful that South Africa has introduced this system, and I am so proud that it was done so well.  Everyone involved with the Gautrain were extremely friend.  It was safe and very very clean.  I will be using this service more and more in the weekends ahead.

30 days of Me - Day 2

Wow, day two is too discuss the meaning behind my blog's name. Where to start? Come whatever may to me means, take life as it comes and live with no regret.  Stone Sour has a song titled 'Come Whatever may' that's where I first saw the name, I was living in NYC at the time, and its basically just stuck with me. There is no personal or special meaning really, it just made me smile.  The song's meaning and my blog's meaning have nothing in common, well just the name.

So yeah, nothing really deep and wise about my blog's name....its just something that stood out from the crowd.

Race Day by Cara Jade Gabryk

Sally the snake was so excited for the Sunny Sunshine Race that was taking place in a few hours.  She could not keep herself calm, so she decided to start slithering her way to the starting line.  On her way there she bumped into Susan the snail.  “Hello Susan, how are you?” asked Sally.  Susan stopped in her tracks and replied, “Hi Sally, I very tired but super excited for the race.”  Before Sally could say another word Susan was chatting again “I have been traveling for hours so that I can get to the race” mentioned Susan and started muttering to herself.  Sally looked at Susan the snail and asked “May I help you Susan?”  Susan the snail just looked at Sally the snake with a confused expression on her face.  “You are more than welcome to sit on top on me, seeing that you are so small and I am so big.”  Susan was very grateful and made her way onto Sally’s long body.

When Sally and Susan arrived at the race, the race was a few minutes away.  Sally the snake asked Susan the snail if she was taking part in the race?  Susan replied saying “I was meant to but I am far too tired to take part in the race, so I will be cheering for you sally.”

Sally thought to herself and whispered to Susan “You are more than welcome to stay on top of me just like before so that we can both take part of the race.”  Susan was so excited that within seconds she was already on Sally’s long body and ready for the race.

And BANG….the race had started, by the end of the race Sally the snake and Susan the snail had done their best and came in second place, Rory the rabbit came in first place.  Even though Sally the snake wanted to win the race, she was very happy that she got to help her friend Susan the snail and for that Sally the snake felt like a winner.

I am busy with my teaching practical at Noddyland Nursery School and Creche -  So I decided to rather write my own little story for the class than getting a book for the library.

Tattoo Loving

I got my first tattoo at the age of 18 and there has been NO looking back.  Since then I have had 5 more tattoo's done.  When I was in NYC in 2010, I got a swallow, my first colour and my 5th tattoo.  I always wanted to get a tattoo done in NYC, for all the memories I had created there.  So one day I just went and did it.

The reason why I got a Swallow tattoo was because to me it means interdependence and freedom, and no matter where a swallow is in the world it will always return home after a year, and that was like my situation,  I always returned home after my adventures, another reason is for LOVE and LOYALTY to the family.
