Sowing The Seeds

This past weekend was Sowing The Seeds.  What an awesome festival, saw some epic bands, met some great people....and jammed my face off.

I was a little disappointed in some things, like the showers and toilets in the NON VIP areas. The toilets were quiet disgusting, but other than that very well organised.

Can't wait for OppiKoppi...

I am super duper excited for tomorrow, because tomorrow my friend Dom and I set off to Sowing the Seeds, for a weekend of camping and great music, oh yes and MUCH Much more.

I have been excited about this blog because I have so many nicknames its CRAZY. Lets just name a few for now.

Cara Pooh or Pooh Bear or Pooh - because I am crazy MAD about Winnie The Pooh

 Cara Wara - because for some reason people like rhyming

Granny - because someone doesn't HAVE any fashion sense and can't appreciate when a girl wears floral

Cara Bean or Bean - because it sounds awesome and only the COOL kids call me that *giggles*

Jade - because its my "second name"

AND

Cars - because Cara isn't short enough (but I still LOVE it)

Came across this band, like a few minutes ago *giggles*.  They are from my hometown Durban, South Africa.  This Indie group is pretty awesome. They are Asleep in Transit.  Check them out and have a little dance.

Someone you would want to switch lives with for one day and why?

I have been thinking about this for about a week now, and I came up to the conclusion that I dont want to switch lives with anyone else.  I love my life, my life is exciting and filled with lots of LOVE and JOY.  Switching lives with someone else would be interesting but I would rather just be me.

Fire Island

My first week in New York, I had the chance to go to Fire Island.  Fire Island is one of the outer barrier island adjacent to the south shore of Long Island, New York.  It is approximately 50 km long and varies between 160 and 400 meter broad.

 It was summer 2010 when I went, we drove along the Robert Moses causeway on its western end and by William Floyd Parkway to the ferries, which take you to the island.  Car's aren't allowed on Fire Island, if you do want a car during winter, one needs to get a permit.  

 

Its quiet lovely riding bikes everywhere and walking.  You feel amazing and well rested not having any form of city buzz in the air.  Some movie were shot in Fire Island, at the end of What Happens in Vegas was shot near the light house in Fire Island.

 I must admit is way heavenly and amazing for my jet lag.  The best part of it all was I got to spend time with my Juliet.  Sadly my Liza had to do her permit drivers test that weekend.

I was so fortunate that I had the chance to go to this wonderful little island.

I love bows and I love stripes, put them together and you get HAPPINESS.

One can assume that I am very bored, but all I want to do is paint the town with as many colours as possible with lots of glitter and NO one wants to do it with me.  MISSION....do it by myself.

Whooooooo, I cant not wait.  Camping, music, friends and good vibes.  This is going to be epic. Tickets were bought about 15 minutes ago.  First festival of the year, with many more coming my way.  The amazing Jeremy Loops and Co, Wrestlerish and Tidal Waves are all confirmed - can not wait to hear who else will be performing.

Hair Project - Week 1

Since forever I have had funky, crazy hair; it has been short, long, black, red, shocking red and multi-coloured.  I am 25 years old and I still want crazy hair, it has taken me forever to get my natural colour back and I do want to keep it that way.  So this is my plan....for the month of February I will be doing this crazy hair a week project, where I will take my hair as it is and make it funky, seeing that its the only thing a girl can do *giggles*
